Current Practice

Nikoo is dedicated to the art of listening in her practice, and respects each individual as a unique being. She is a general practitioner, with experience treating a wide range of ailments including stress, emotional imbalances, and acute & chronic pain conditions. Her specialties include fertility support, pregnancy and labor support, gynecological and urinary conditions such as chronic UTIs and painful bladder syndrome, and yeast and bacterial imbalances. She recognizes that complex illnesses often require a comprehensive approach and the willingness to problem solve. She is a registered provider with the Interstitial Cystitis Association (ICA) and the Interstitial Cystitis Network (ICN). Her own experiences with getting pregnant after the age of 35 led her to an interest in treating fertility problems due to "advanced age," diminished ovarian reserve, hormonal imbalances, and unexplained infertility. She can help with difficulties conceiving as well as recurrent miscarriage.

Background

Nikoo was born in Shiraz, Iran, and grew up in New York and Tennessee. Her diverse background and experiences as an adolescent led her to an interest in the human condition. It was while working at a medical clinic in Tennessee that she became interested in medicine. She observed that our struggles with illness and pain, though challenging, have the potential to unite us in our shared experiences and align us with our truest selves. As a patient of acupuncture herself, she began to view Chinese medicine not only as a way to achieve individual health and happiness, but as a vehicle to establishing the balance and well being of our communities, on a social and environmental level. In her free time, Nikoo loves a lazy day with her family, exploring the East Bay outdoors with her dog Lobo, and going to Warriors games.
